The Overcomers program
A Christ-centered program built on structure, Scripture and brotherhood
Every Overcomers home runs on the same weekly rhythm, and every man works a written plan for his recovery and his life. Structure is love with skin on it.
The weekly rhythm
| What | When | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Church at The Good Fight Church | Every Sunday | Required for every resident |
| House meeting | Every Sunday | Rent is due and chores are checked before it |
| Disciple Me at The Good Fight Church | Every Tuesday | Required for every resident |
| House Bible study | Weekly | In the house, led by your house manager |
| Recovery meetings | By time sober | See the meeting tiers below |
| Check-in with your house manager | Weekly | Plus a one-on-one every month |
| Work, school, treatment or job search | Daily | Required |
| Drug and alcohol testing | Random, for cause and after passes | Your intake screen sets the baseline |
| Curfew and quiet hours | Nightly | Curfew 10 PM; quiet hours 10 PM–6 AM |
Meetings by time sober
The newer your sobriety, the more meetings you attend. Church, Disciple Me, the house meeting and Bible study are required at every stage.
| Time sober | Recovery meetings |
|---|---|
| Less than 3 months | 30 meetings in 30 days |
| 3 to 6 months | 5 meetings a week |
| Over 6 months | 3 AA meetings a week |
Your Overcomer Playbook
In your first week, you and your house manager fill out your Playbook: an honest starting line, a recovery plan, and goals at 3, 6 and 12 months. It isn’t paperwork. It’s the map of your comeback.
You check in on it every week, and sit down for a real review at 30, 60 and 90 days, then at 6 months and a year.
What the plan covers
- Recovery: sobriety date, sponsor, home group, triggers and your three phone calls
- Faith: church, Disciple Me, daily prayer and reading
- Work and purpose
- Money: emergency fund, rent, debt
- Legal: court dates, probation, a plan to get clean
- Health and transportation
- Family restoration and amends
Milestones we mark
Also celebrated: baptism, a new job, a raise, reliable transportation, a savings goal, a debt paid off, a court case closed, probation complete, a family relationship restored and graduation.
House rules in plain language
- Curfew is 10 PM unless your house manager approves. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 6 AM.
- Chores are done before Sunday’s house meeting, or a $15 cleaning fee applies.
- Rooms and shared spaces stay clean every day. No food or drinks other than water in bedrooms.
- Bedroom doors stay unlocked. Managers may enter rooms when there’s reason for concern.
- Visitors are approved by your house manager and program leadership.
- No tobacco inside the house or in front of it.
- No stealing. Respect your brothers, staff and neighbors. Lights and TV off when you leave.
You get the full Resident Handbook before you move in. Minor issues follow a clear path: a verbal redirect, a written warning, an accountability plan, then removal.
If someone relapses
We love you too much to let one man’s use put the whole house at risk, so a relapse ends your stay. We will never put a man on the street to fend for himself. We connect him to detox, treatment, family or other housing. Relapse ends this stay, not your story. Many men come back after treatment and finish strong.
Calling 911 for an overdose is always protected. Every home keeps naloxone, and no one is ever disciplined for saving a life.
How we build great lives
Character, focus, action
Christlike Character + Calculated Focus + Consistent Action = great lives. Read the Culture Code
Christlike character
Who you are when no one is watching. We become like the One we follow: honest, humble, faithful and kind.
Calculated focus
Aim your days on purpose. Know the next right move and take it. Recovery is built by intention, not accident.
Consistent action
Show up again and again. Not perfectly, consistently. Small right things, repeated, become a new life.
Ready when you are.
Apply in about two minutes. A house manager will call you to talk it through.
